Normandy Invasion, during WWll, the Allied invasion of Western Europe, which was lunch on June 6, 1944 (The most celebrated D-Day of the War), with the simultaneous landing of U.S., British, and Canadian forces on five separate beach heads in Normandy, France. By the end of August 1944 all of the northern France was liberated and the inviting forces reorganized for the drive into Germany, where they would eventually meet with Soviet Forces advancing from the east to bring an end to the Nazi Reich.

PFC Milton A. Lee, a Vietnam infantryman/radio-telephone operator with the B Company, 2d Battalion, 502d Infantry, 101st Airborne Division was killed in combat on April 26, 1968. His extraordinary courage in an intense firefight saved the lives of many of his fellow soldiers. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Milton Lee was a graduate of Harlandale High School Class of 1967. Harlandale alumni, Alamo Eagles (veterans of the 101st) and other San Antonio veterans are raising funds to name a building after him on the school campus and to emplace a bronze memorial plaque inside the school.
